08/03/2009 - Double Dark Now Available:

We have received many requests over the years for bottles of our fantastic guest range. I am proud to say the first such release is Double Dark Oatmeal Stout, which will appear as our Guest Cask Ale in November.

However we have a limited number of cases available now. This special bottling run has been done with sampling for the UK and Export in mind but we thought we could offer some cases for our regular visitors to our site. Anyway, enough babble here's more about the beer

Double Dark is an invigorating infusion of optic, amber and wheat malt, coupled with roasted barley for that rich malt flavour, with the delicate dryness from pinhead oats and a touch of Target Hop. This dark brew is well rounded, with hints of raisiny spiciness and toasty dryness. This is complemented by dark roasted malt flavours, hints of caramel and liquorice and finishes with a subtle hop.

Double Dark is a tribute to the styles of the 18th and 19th centuries and should be appreciated as a Celebrated Scottish Ale
