Caledonian Brewery and its World Champion Beer, Deuchars IPA, are proud to announce the launch of Cask Beer week. The weeks long celebration of Cask Beer, and more importantly its contribution to the British economy, runs from the 6th - 13th of April.

Deuchars IPA was yesterday the beer of choice as TV celebrity Melanie Sykes toasted the beginning of the week's celebrations at London's St Pancras Station. Euro-Star Travellers were met on the platform with samples of Deuchars and other national cask brands, as cask beer was showcased to arriving passengers from the continent. Cask Beer is unique to the British Isles and is leading a sector fight back, within an industry still coming to grips with the economic down turn and smoking ban.
Deuchars has delivered strong trading figures in the first 3 months of the year with just over 1% growth in sales - that compares to a national decline of around 9% last year for the beer industry.
Deuchars IPA, Scotland's highest selling cask beer, has embarked on an expansion into England and is now a mainstay on many suburban bars the length of the UK.
Cask week culminates with a world record attempt on Saturday evening, as the nation tries to beat the world's biggest toast. So raise a glass of Deuchars to the sky and celebrate beers fight back.
