Rhino & Hamster's Diary

23rd March 2007

Gutted!!! Embaressed !! Sick!!

These are the words I would use to describe the way I feel about the performance we put in against the Dutch yesterday. We were poor in every aspect and I really feel for the travelling family and supporters as they have been magnificent. They sang all day yesterday and they really have put the other teams supporters to shame.

It has been a poor tournament for the Caledonian lads, however a good one for Deuchars IPA as the brand has been splashed about every where and has caused some grief with the ICC (think they are just jealous cause of all the exposure it has got). The T-shirts with Deuchars on provided by Caley Brewery are very sought after and every one including the locals are trying to get their hands on them.

This will be my last post from the Carribean as we fly back tomorrow at 7AM but I would like to thank you all for your support and to the company thanks for letting us have the time off. Sorry the posts have not been too regular but we are, believe it or not very busy out here and it seems there is always something to do.

Yesterday was a sad day for the team as our captain Craig Wright has decided to stand down as skipper, Craig has been excellent and I was really sorry we could not win for him. In closing I would just like to say that this has been one of the greatest experiences of my life – and that if anyone is considering the Carribean as a holiday destination they should definitely come. I am a little sad at the cricket we played but we have learnt a lot and come up against the 2 best teams in the world – something I will cherish all my life.

See you soon and look forward to catching up for a Deuchars or 3
